Meet the Avery Rascal — Evan Turner

This month’s Rascal is Evan Turner, Warehouse Manager at Avery Brewing Co.

What do you do at Avery Brewing?
I am the warehouse manager. I manage a crew of four guys, three of which I have worked with for over five years. The amount of experience in the warehouse makes my job a lot easier.

What does a typical day look like for you?
There is no typical day. A short list would include managing inventories between onsite and offsite warehouses, supporting packaging, filling orders for the tap room, building orders for distributors, unloading incoming shipments, loading outgoing shipments, listening to King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and a lot of going up and down the stairs.

In your opinion, what are some qualities that make a craft brewery great?
Quality and Diversity. Quality I think is pretty self explanatory, but if the tap wall is always the same I’m not going to keep coming back.

What do you do for fun in your free time?
Free time?

Random hobbies/interests?
When I do have free time I like to play my guitar.

What’s your favorite Avery beer? Non-Avery beer?
My favorite Avery beer is Tweak and my favorite non-Avery beer is Gin.

What’s your favorite part about Avery Brewing?
We always have new beers coming out. It’s a nightmare for me and my crew but when I go to the taproom after work there is always something new to try.
